Character Name: Xie Lian
Species: God
Canon: Heaven Official's Blessing/Tian Guan Ci Fu
Canon Point: When he is setting up his shrine after his third ascension. After the series ends (book 8) + extras.
Character Age: 800+
Character Appearance: Xie Lian is on the shorter side and slender. His hair is long enough to reach his lower back (and a little below). He wears white robes and bandages (one of said bandages is his main weapon and the others conceal the Cursed Shackle that was placed upon him) - as well as a straw hat. He is said to be very handsome and when he was a prince, he wore finery and jewelry. His apparel nowadays is very humble in comparison.
Powers and Abilities: He can use Ruoye, his sentient bandage, to knock opponents down and bind them. He is also skilled with a sword and a decent musician (since he used to busk on the streets). Because of the Cursed Shackles, he can't be killed and he won't age, so he perpetually looks seventeen. He is also cursed with bad luck, so he is quite accident prone.

His Cursed Shackles have been broken and he is stronger than ever. He is the top god in Heaven thanks to the sheer amount of cultivation he has done over 800 years. As such, he can use his spiritual power to perform complicated, intense spells when they are necessary. Since he still retains his humble heart, he doesn't use his power at random or to show off. To those who know him, he is the same Xie Lian who was Shackled by Jun Wu's might.
What Did Your Character Wish For? His most secret wish is to end his loneliness, but he doesn't think himself worthy.
What Potion Did They Receive? Scarlet.
Did They Drink It? Yes and he can now produce fire sparks/embers from his fingertips.

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?

This is a difficult question considering Xie Lian misses many people. His parents, his servants, those that have crossed his path in the past. He tries not to bond with anyone because he fears they will end up like the others - or worse. But he does think about Wuming (and the stubborn little ghost light/spirit that tried to protect and stand up for him when he was at his worst).

In the future, he will be the most bonded with San Lang (also known as Hua Cheng and previously known as Wuming). They have crossed paths at his canon point and already Xie Lian is protective of him, worrying about his comfort and his well-being as well as wanting to hear what he knows about the various places they visit. I think, being in the game, Xie Lian will come to miss his new friend the most.

2. What are they most afraid of?

Hurting others. He feels like enough of a monster for one eternity without adding blood to the blood already soaked into his robes (metaphorically). Xie Lian is atoning for his mistakes in the best way he knows how. He doesn't want to fall back a step. But at the same time he knows he is cursed to be accident-prone. As such he tries to keep space between himself and others, choosing to live in the wilds, follow his conscience and basically live far below the standard of even the weakest of deities.

3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?

His past weighs heavily on him and any reminder of it strikes him deeply. He thinks poorly of himself and behaves humbly as a result. His loneliness is likely his weakest trait, emotionally, (besides his grief), but Xie Lian makes sure to inspect anyone for signs of malicious intent when he meets them. He is much too old to let himself be blind.

Physically, he is bound by the Cursed Shackle. His spiritual energy is nonexistent, so, without help, he can't cast any spells. Then, on top of it, his luck is cursed. So even if he does manage to cast a spell, it will likely slap him in the face. Which further humbles him mentally, making him detach from those around him (even if and especially if they mean well).

4. What would make them happiest?

Belonging somewhere. Having company that he can protect without fear of failing. Having a home. Ever since his first ascension, Xie Lian has been losing his grip on all of those small (though not so small after all!) miracles. He has come to appreciate what he took for granted back then and he knows now that he isn't strong enough to undo all of the evil in the world (though he is still ready to try).

5. What’s their type for a lover?

As a virgin, he doesn't rightly know. But his heart beats for one man, one ghost. He just hasn't realized it yet (nor will he allow himself that freedom). So Xie Lian remains innocent and ignorant.

In truth, however, Xie Lian's perfect lover would be someone steadfast. Someone whose opinion of him doesn't falter or change even if he causes a mess. Someone who sees through his curses, his past and realizes that he isn't a bad man. Someone who pursues him and isn't daunted by his innocence or his embarrassment. Someone patient, strong (physically and mentally) as well as magically powerful so they can protect themselves if something goes wrong.
